Are We Who We Say We Are?

Tonight as we crawl into bed again at 1 am, we are reminded anew and afresh why we do the work we do. There have been many nights in the past few months that we have found ourselves awake in the wee hours of the morning holding someone who is hurting and who needs a touch from the Lord. Our Father has given us His love and His precious promises to share with those in need. The times of reflection allow us an opportunity to see who we are and what has the Lord taught us that we can share with others. This night we have held a wife and mother as she cried due to intense emotional pain from a failed marriage, children who have gone astray and a life in limbo. What is her identity? Who is she really? Who are we? Are we who we say we are? Are we children of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Is God our heavenly Father or is He just someone we have learned to talk about and give pat answers to questions facing loved ones. We never want to just give pat answers to the needs in this world. We always want to share truth and know that what we share touches their heart life at its deepest point. We want to be real! We want to experience the joy of being a child of God and also allow ourselves to be identified with Him. We have been criticized for speaking about our heavenly Father as if He is our best friend, someone we talk to on a regular basis and someone we listen to daily. This is truth! When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, the Holy Spirit of God comes to dwell within you. That Holy Spirit who Jesus said He would send as a comforter is our best friend. He speaks to us and guides us into all truth. We seek Him through the Word of God and through prayer. We see the Word in action every day. We see love manifested. We see peace experienced and joy expressed. We see miracles every day. It may be as simple as the miracle of unconditional love which was expressed tonight as we ministered to the woman who came to our door in need. We have chosen to live our life serving our Lord Jesus. We have chosen to follow Him daily by reading His Word and studying His Word. We have chosen to spend time in prayer seeking the Lord on behalf of thousands who need prayer and healing. This is a choice we have made. There are those who do not understand this choice but this is our life.
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7
Not a day goes by that we do not receive a phone call, email or a visit from someone in need either physically, emotionally or spiritually. Our Father has equipped us to help these people through Jesus our Lord, the Holy Spirit who lives within us and the Word of God as our guide. We give them the Word to help them with their problems. That is the only truth there is. We love our family, our friends, our church family and we want them to know of that love but we love our Heavenly Father even more. If that offends them then it will just have to offend them. We will serve the Lord where He wants us and where He leads us. Are we who we say we are? Yes, we are God’s servants on His journey through life and He is our guide. May the glory of the Lord be our strength! May we stand firm on the foundation of the Word of God and not waver. May we always show love and compassion to those in need! May we not compromise though people criticize and try to turn us off course! We will stay the course that Father has given us to walk. This past year has been the deepest faith walk we have ever experienced. Literally we have been totally dependent on the Lord for our daily bread. He has always been faithful to provide for us. He has shown us His love in a very tangible way. We are so thankful for His blessings! Our new car is running wonderfully! We just received a new roof on our house. We are of all people most blessed! Lord, we thank You that You sent your Son Jesus to die for us and that we have chosen to receive so great a salvation. We look forward to each day in service to our Lord. We shall be lights in the darkness and salt in the earth. May each of you experience this salvation and have confidence that no matter what happens in the world, you are safe in the arms of Jesus.
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:14-15

Christ's Kingdom Ministries June 2007 Newsletter

Dear Prayer Partners,
We thank all of you for your continued prayers for our transportation needs. Today we want to share with you the answer to your prayers. Our Father has provided us a new vehicle. Here is a picture of our 2000 Infiniti I30 series. It has a little over 89,000 miles on it. We are so excited to give our Lord all the honor, glory and praise for this gift! Several weeks ago we received a call from a dear friend telling us that he had found a car for us. He asked if we hated green and Charley told him “we love Jesus”. We both chuckled! That happened on a Friday. On Monday we went to the dealership to sign the papers on our car. This vehicle was provided for us by the Lord through several people who He told to help with our transportation needs. You hear people say that God gave them something, well dear prayer warriors, God gave us this car. We were handed the key and it cost us no money. We were blessed beyond our wildest dreams. Father has so many plans for us in the days ahead for ministry. He is beginning to lay out His perfect plans for us to travel. As He gives direction and provides the funds, we will be back on the road for Jesus.
We have been very busy here at home! Almost daily we are ministering the Word and sharing our hearts and lives with those in need. Love Bears have been distributed these past few months. We have several individuals currently making bears. In May, 60 bears went to a local orphanage. We are sending 200 bears to Mexico with our church’s Mission Team June 26-July 3. Also we will send many Cross Bookmarks with a verse in Spanish with the Mission Team to be distributed as the Lord directs. These are made by some precious ladies in California. It is so exciting to watch the Lord work in people’s lives and to follow His leadership and guidance daily.
We have been available while home to many in our area who need a listening ear and a prayer warrior! The attack is great on families! We have seen several marriages broken and much grieving for lives that have been turned upside down. Why is this happening in this prosperous and free country? We have watched people we know and love hurting due to the stress not only of work but finances. We have seen the eyes of children show confusion and distress as their parents move to separate and abandon the vows they took many years ago that only death would separate them. Pay close attention to the media and to the books in the stores and you will see a trend towards the sensational and the destructive. Only God can make a difference in these hurting lives. We cannot tell you the number of people who look at us and our relationship wishing they could experience this kind of love and compassion. We tell them that if they do things (live life) God's way then they too can experience love, joy and peace daily no matter what the circumstances in their life. What does the Word say to us? We must read and allow the Word to bathe our hearts and minds. Listen as we read from the Word:
Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

1 Corinthians 2:9-11
But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

Philippians 1:27-28
Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God.

Philippians 4:6-7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Thank you dear prayer partners for your unfailing prayers and love! You have walked with us for 7 years as we have followed the Lord’s direction for ministry. We know we will be traveling again soon but Father has not given us a date. He is continuing daily to reveal the direction and the people He wants us to see.
We will follow Proverbs 3:5-6:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Please pray for clear direction and for Father’s financial provision!
We remain fellow servants of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Charley & Karen

Easter Season

It thrills our hearts to read these scriptures during this celebration season! To many people they are so familiar and to some this may be the first time you have read them. Join us as we rejoice in the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us as He gave His life a ransom for many and as He arose from the grave victorious over sin and death! Give your life to Jesus today and experience the abundant life promised in the Word to those who know Jesus as Lord and Savior.

This week we were so saddened by the events at Virginia Tech University. Please join us in praying for the families who lost loved ones and those who have been injured. Please pray for our nation and those in leadership who make the choices and decisions concerning the issues that are before us. We must take steps to take a stand for the truth of the Word of God.

Jesus Christ is Risen; He is Risen Indeed

John 20:1-18
Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.” Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. So they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself. Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed. For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. Then the disciples went away again to their own homes. But Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb. And she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. Then they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him.” Now when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God’.” Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had spoken these things to her.

John 17:20-26 Jesus speaking
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You have loved Me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

Share the love of Jesus with those you meet and encourage them to read the Word of God and learn of His ways and His plans for them.

We love you all,

Charley & Karen

Christ’s Kingdom Ministries February 2007 Newsletter

Dear Prayer Partners,
What an amazing year this has already been! Since the Christmas holidays we have been very busy with ministry to families over email and locally. We have several families in turmoil due to separation and pending divorce. We are watching the values that we hold dear from the Word of God being torn asunder by demonic attacks. One of the greatest culprits in this demise of marriage and the home is drugs. Several of the men involved are totally consumed by their drug addiction to the point that they have left their wives and children and continue to consume these very dangerous and deadly drugs. Another of the reasons for the turmoil in the home is infidelity. Basic trust is being broken. We have held many wives and children as they have wept over the loss of the husband and father of the home. We point them toward the healing found in the Word of God and the words that Jesus spoke. Several of those scriptures are:

John 14:1
Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.

John 12:44-46
Then Jesus cried out and said, He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.

John 15:9-10
As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

The bear ministry has been vital to sharing the love of Jesus with many families. The Love Bears are prayed over as they are made and as we receive them. We also pray over the people who receive them. The Lord healed one woman of a chronic medical problem as she held a bear and prayed for her daughter. Another woman received her bear in the mail and called to exclaim how thankful she was for the bear. She had surgery last year for brain cancer and continues to heal. There are times when Charley and I are both on different phones with people who need to hear of Father’s love for them. In a few short days we will send 125 bears to India to be given away in an orphanage. We are seeing God’s love in action in a very tangible way.

Father told us last year that 2006 was our year of Sabbath rest. We did not rest from ministry but from travel. In many ways 2006 was busier in ministry than the previous years. We continue to pray for and encourage pastors. It has been a blessing to encourage local pastors as they seek to share the truth of the Word with their congregations. Pastors are under great attack in this day. Father told us this year that He is purifying His Church! That means that what you are seeing in the news concerning pastors failing in many ways through sexual immorality is an example of that cleansing of the church. What is hidden will be revealed in the last days! Please pray for your pastor and for all the pastors that God has called to teach and preach to the nations. Their responsibilities are great in pointing people to the saving love of Jesus.

Please be in prayer for the Church, the people of God, to be drawn to the throne of God through the Word. Our lives must reflect the glory of the Lord and His Word! We are to be conformed to the image of Jesus. In order for that to happen we must be healed and cleansed of the things of the world so that we will reflect the love of Jesus.

This ministry continues to follow the Lord Jesus daily. We stay in His Word and on our face before Him so that we will be the light shining in the darkness. Just look around you at the news and the TV where you will see the darkness that envelopes us. We must:

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

Christ’s Kingdom Ministries is committed to sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ wherever we go whether at home or on the road.

Christ’s Love Encourages and Restores!!

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
Numbers 6:25-26

Who Will Stand for Me?

It is a New Year and with this New Year come possibilities, opportunities and successes and failures! Where is your heart in this New Year? Is it with the One who died for you and rose again to live forever? Where do you stand? Do you stand for what is right and good or do you stand with those who would tear down this country brick by brick until nothing is left of decency, honesty and integrity? We are faced each day with choices. We choose where we will work, we choose who we will marry, we choose where we will go and we choose our battles. We chose a long time ago to align ourselves with those who profess Jesus as Lord. We chose a long time ago to speak the name of Jesus to the world and stand as a Christian (Christ One). We choose daily to continue to stand for truth in a world that is quickly losing sight of the truth. In Psalm 94:16 it says:

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

God will stand for us! Will we stand for Him? Our ears are bombarded today with words from the media concerning the issues of the day. We are asked where we will stand on these issues. Where do you go for your wisdom to make these decisions? If you do not go to the Word of God then you do not have wisdom. If you do not go to your Heavenly Father then you do not have wisdom. There is only one source of wisdom for truth. Dear saints of God! It is time to stand up for Jesus in a world that is quickly falling into the pit. It is an individual choice. You can follow the crowd but that will only get you in trouble unless that crowd is a host of people seeking and following the Lord Jesus.
In 1 Corinthians 16:13 it says:

Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong. Let all that you do be done with love.

Christians it is time to take our place as Children of God before a lost world and stand fast. In Ephesians 6:13-20 we are told:

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—and for me, that utterance maybe given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

In a song written many years ago by George Duffield & George J. Webb the words are:
“Stand up, Stand up for Jesus, Ye soldiers of the cross! Lift high His royal banner, It must not suffer loss.”

Get on your face before your Holy God and seek His wisdom for today and the days ahead in your personal life and also in the life of your country. We must have Father’s wisdom in choosing a new president, in listening to the rhetoric of today and knowing who is telling the truth, in our churches to know who are false teachers and who speak the truth. We pray for each one of you daily that you will be “soldiers of the cross” in a world slowly slipping away from the Cross.

Love and blessings to our dear partners! Please continue to pray for us as we also walk out this New Year as children of God following the Lord Jesus.

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
We join you in celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ during this Christmas season! What a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the past days and give honor, praise and glory to our Lord for taking care of us through trials and tribulations and also for just being with us every step of the road. We can see how He has protected us and how He has provided for us. It is fitting that we celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas so close together.

Let your hearts be stirred and softened to receive the good news of Jesus Christ this season and let your lives be drawn to the one who loves you more than words can say.

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Psalm 103:3-5

We love and appreciate all of you and pray Father’s richest blessings for the New Year 2007!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!

During this very special time of the year, we want to say thank you to all of our prayer partners: family and friends. Thank you for your love, thank you for your prayers and thank you for your gifts to the ministry! This has been a very special yet different year for us in the 7 years of Christ’s Kingdom Ministries. Though at home the biggest part of the year, we have remained very busy with our work: touching lives in Jesus name! As most of you know the ministry is a 24/7 responsibility that we take very seriously. We experience phone calls at all hours of the night, surprise visits anytime during the day and divine appointments wherever Father leads and guides us. It has been a true joy to keep the appointments this year and see the power of God manifested! We have truly felt and seen your prayers during this time. Father told us not long ago that this was the Sabbath rest year for us only in relation to our traveling. Otherwise much has happened daily to show us His hand and anointing upon us.
Early in the year my grandmother died after several years in a nursing home. She was the life and love of the nursing home as she spoke to the residents of God’s love and showed it daily. She was the encourager for the rehabilitation area and also the encourager for the nurses. They loved to see her coming! We had a family reunion and celebration time at her services. She was a joy to her family.
Also our son returned from 7 months in Iraq protecting our freedom and we enjoyed several days visiting with him and his wife. We were so thankful to you for your prayers for him and for his safe return to us. We were blessed to spend Easter with our daughter and her family! Goodness those kids are growing!
We had my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary with lots of extended family present and lots of visiting. Family reunions are fun!
Needless to say it has been a busy year. It has been a year of deep study and prayer concerning the future of Christ’s Kingdom Ministries. Father has shown us His plans for the days ahead and we are so excited! We learned this year what it truly means to walk by faith and not by sight. When you are totally and completely dependent on the Lord for your livelihood, you learn real quick that He is faithful, He is able, and He does own the cattle on a thousand hills. We have sought daily to practice Proverbs 3:5-6:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.

He has absolutely directed our paths this year. Ministry has been intense as many have come to us for spiritual help and love as they walked through difficult days in health, marriages and relationships. As a child of God we have given them the Word straight and uncompromised and the Word has brought healing, reconciliation in marriages and restoration of relationships. We have prayed diligently over our list of names daily and seen answers come over time and some immediately. We prayed over a young lady with a fractured arm and healing happened! We prayed over a woman with pain in her head, neck and arm and healing happened! All we did was to be faithful to pray believing and the Lord did the healing! We have sat and listened as several people have poured out their pain in their life due to unfaithful partners and seen the power of God bring comfort into their hearts. Some have continued on the path of divorce but their lives were drawn closer to the Lord in the process. The enemy of God, Satan, is busy trying to destroy Christian homes and we must fight against it. We fight by staying in the Word and on our face in prayer! We stand firm on what we know to be true and we walk forward always ready for battle. Paul the apostle said in 2 Timothy 4:7-8:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Stand firm dear children of God! Stand and be counted as children of the Most High! Finish the course that the Lord has laid out for you!
Jesus is coming soon! We await His appearing!
Have a wonderful, blessed, exciting and joyous Thanksgiving!
Psalm 100:4

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

We love you,
Charley & Karen

What Gospel Are We Preaching?

Charley has spent much time recently studying in Galatians. This is where the Lord has taken him and he has been so intent in learning what Paul was preaching and teaching this group of people. In Galatians 1:6-10 we read:

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

In the world where we live there are people preaching other gospels than the one in this Word. There is only one gospel and that is the gospel of Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. When we receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we join the family of God as heirs according to the promise to Abraham. Our sins are forgiven and we receive the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. The gospel is salvation by grace not by works. Every word spoken by any pastor, teacher, preacher, or evangelist must be placed beside the Word of God for accuracy and truth. If it varies in any way from this truth then it is false doctrine and is to be discarded. We are bombarded with people’s thoughts, ideas and opinions daily through TV and music. Be very careful to only receive the truth from the Word and those who teach and preach Jesus and Him crucified and raised from the dead. In Galatians 3:1-7 Paul says:
O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? Have you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?—just as Abraham “believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham.
We are entering a very special and blessed season of the year where we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus. Daily we will be bombarded with the word 'holiday' rather than the word Christmas. Much has been said through the media about taking Christ out of Christmas. We praise the Lord that we choose to celebrate the birth of Jesus and let the world know that He is our Savior and soon coming King. We will live for Jesus daily!

We are so thankful this Thanksgiving season for all of the many blessings we have received this year. This has been a difficult year for us yet we have never failed to praise and thank our Lord for each day and His bountiful provisions and blessings. Jesus is Lord of our life and we will rejoice in Him.

God bless and keep each one of you! We love you!

October is Pastor Appreciation Month

Dear Pastor,
We cannot miss an opportunity to send a word of love and encouragement to all the pastors Father has brought to us for prayer and blessing. We knew when we first met you that Father had joined us together for the work of His ministry. What an awesome God we serve! Right now you cannot read the paper or hear the news without someone mentioning something that has happened with a church or a pastor. Most of what you read is not good news. Father has placed us in a role like Barnabas who was called a man of encouragement. We seek daily to lay each one of you at the throne of God and to release you for Father’s work to be done in you. We know from His Word that He has called and anointed you to preach the “good news” of the gospel to every person that is in your sphere of influence. He has shown us over these past 7 years of Christ’s Kingdom Ministries the impact each of us has on the people we know or who see us daily. We will either have a positive or a negative impact for the Lord on each person we meet. We know that our children watch us to see how we are going to deal with the issues of life but the reality of other people watching us for the same reason only hit home a few years ago. We will either speak words of life or words of death over people. We choose to only speak words of life. When you share the Word of the Lord with your congregation or those whose lives you touch in ministry, you will speak life into that person and you pray they will respond with life pouring out of them. Some will hear and choose to continue their walk away from Jesus but some will hear and receive that word and their life will be changed by the Holy Spirit of God.

Pastor, be encouraged today with Proverbs 3:5-6:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.”
Also may you be encouraged from the Word concerning your responsibilities as a pastor:
“So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.” Acts:14:23
“This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?), not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.”
1 Timothy 3:1-7

Pastor, receive the blessing we send today that you are being prayed for daily through this ministry, we love you, and we will not be weary in well doing to support and encourage you with our love and prayers. The role you have in this society today is to be that light shining in the darkness for all to see Jesus. Be salt and be light dear friend and know that as Father’s appointed instruments of love and encouragement, we will be holding up your hands, arms and covering your back till our Lord comes to receive us unto Himself.

In the service of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Christ’s Kingdom Ministries: The Journey Continues!

What an amazing journey we are traveling! Many of you have been following our journey with Christ’s Kingdom Ministries since the beginning in 1999. You have not only followed our physical travels throughout the United States but to El Salvador as well. It has been exciting to know that we were being obedient to our Lord and experiencing His presence and power through our lives. We have met so many people, numerous pastors and adopted several hundred children and grandchildren. The joy has known no bounds for these almost 7 years! We approach our 7th anniversary for the ministry on September 15. As we prepare for this milestone we continue the journey of revelation and anticipation as to God’s plans and purposes for us. For the past 9 months we have remained in Texas ministering in our own home town. You may remember that in the Word, Jesus wasn’t able to minister in His own area. People did not see Him as the Son of God but as Mary’s son. Well, we have also experienced some of that thinking but we have also had much success touching lives for the Kingdom of God daily.

Family Ministry

We have been so blessed to be an encouragement to our own church family as well as enjoy some experiences with our own families. This year Karen’s parents celebrated 60 years of marriage. Definitely a milestone in this day and time! We had a family gathering very much like a reunion that was enjoyed by all. Also this year Karen’s grandmother went home to be with the Lord. At 96 years of age she received her reward for walking with Jesus all her life and being an awesome prayer warrior for us. The time with family at the funeral was precious! We saw cousins that we had not seen in many years. We reminisced about our times while young at the lake or at grandma’s house. One of Charley’s dear cousins also received his heavenly reward for a faithful life as a minister of the gospel. His impact on our lives through the years was great and we miss him so much. We think often of how he was Father’s instrument of teaching and blessing in our personal lives and in this ministry. We would go by to see him in these latter years and just talk about Jesus. We would pray for him and encourage him. It was hard for him not to be busy about the work of the ministry like he had for 50 years. He touched people’s lives where he was but he missed his pastorate. Our son who had spent 7 months defending our country in Iraq returned to the states and came to visit with us. What a joy to hold him and see he was safe! We had another family reunion to celebrate his return.

Ministry Visits

Some dear friends who minister in Mexico came to spend a few days with us and we attended a conference in Denton with them. We met many new pastors and enjoyed the fellowship and teaching afforded by this opportunity. We had spent many years visiting with them at their home and working with their ministry. It was a joy to share our home and life with them. One of the couples we had grown close to in Florida spent part of their vacation with us. It was so good to see them and hold the children. By the time they left for the remainder of their vacation, we were family. They are now adopted!

Surrender

Isn’t it interesting that when we surrender our lives totally to the Lord and His way of doing things, He will lead and guide us in the path that He will choose? For over 6 years we have not been home for more than a couple of weeks at a time. We have seen the glowing aspens of Colorado, the snow capped mountains of California and Oregon, the golden glow of Tennessee and Virginia in the fall and the comfortable mountains of North Carolina. We have spent days working on a cotton farm in Alabama and seen the joy on the faces of young and old alike as they chose their Love Bear. We have sown cross bookmarks in this country and around the world as several ladies in California chose to be obedient to the Lord and make them daily. One of those ladies has now gone to her reward in Heaven. We had the privilege of visiting with her on our western journey.

Memories

We have so many memories of lives changed by the power of God and hearts mended by that same power. If you do not know it, Jesus is alive! He lives today in our lives and in the lives of the many believers around the world. Do not lose heart weary one! Jesus will return soon for us. He promises in His Word that He will come again and take us home with Him. Our hope and prayer is that you will be ready to go. Until that glorious time comes, we must be busy about our Father’s work.

Changing Times

The face of Christ’s Kingdom Ministries is changing! The journey continues, the Enduring Journey, but new things are being added. We will continue to travel extensively but we will also spend more time with pastors than previously. We will be not only a safe ear, a prayer warrior but a physical and financial help to the churches. What the Lord has shown us is expansion of our time and energy spent in personal ministry to these servants of the Lord and even more encouragement and blessing will be sown into their ministry. We await the provision needed to do this work. Our Father is in control and we have given Him the reigns of our life. We have said for many years that we do not leave home until He tells us. We spend time with Him in daily devotionals and prayer. As Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
He has directed our paths for almost 7 years and He will continue to do so. We choose to walk with Jesus. It has been exciting as almost daily Father sings to Charley. The song He sings is: ‘I will take care of you in every way all through the day. I will take care of you I will take care of you.’ We found our hymnal and read all the words to this old hymn.

No Doubt or Fear

How could we ever doubt or fear this journey when Father tells us this truth? He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us! He has reminded us that we are His children! Jesus died for us that we might have life and have it more abundantly! He lives today to keep us safe and secure in His arms of love!

Thank You!

Thank you dear friends and prayer partners for almost 7 years of support and encouragement as we have endeavored to follow the Lord on this journey of faith! We have had valleys to go through and mountain top experiences to enjoy while our Father has been with us every step. His strength, love, joy and peace have been a part of our lives not only in this journey but also throughout our lives. As we approach our senior years we have more confidence in the living hope of our Lord Jesus returning than ever. We see the signs of the times before our eyes and we know He is coming. The old song, ‘We'll work till Jesus comes’, is on our lips and in our hearts.God bless and keep you all as you seek the Lord with all your heart. The scripture verse Father gave us for this ministry is Matthew 6:33.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Then we must go back to the previous verses to see what 'all these things' means. Matthew 6:25-32 in the Word says:

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ Or ‘What shall we drink?’ Or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

We pray you will continue to come along with us on this journey of faith until the Lord Jesus comes to take us home. It will be a glorious ride!

PASTOR, HOW ARE YOU DOING?

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

During a quiet time with the Lord, He told me He had a message for His pastors. I have found over these several years of writing articles for the newsletter that I do not write unless Father gives me the words. I sought the Lord concerning what He wanted to say. There is so much happening in the world right now especially in the Middle East. We see Israel and Lebanon in battle. We continue to see death and destruction in Iraq and Afghanistan. How do we the church in America help or deal with what is happening half way around the world? One thing we do is WE PRAY! Daily we get emails encouraging us to pray and giving us info on the world’s issues. We do not hear much from our pulpits about what is happening. I wonder sometimes if we want one place that we can go where we aren’t bombarded with violence and fear. You can’t turn on the radio or TV without seeing pictures of bloodshed. God has a message for His pastors and we will try to give what we believe to be His message.

My Servants! My Pastors! My Preachers and Teachers!

How are you doing? What are you doing? Do you remember when I called you to do what you are doing? Do you remember how you told Me you would do whatever I asked? You cried and you promised to be faithful! Are you still doing what I have asked? I know but do you know. I watch you daily! Are you still in My Word every day? Do you still spend time with Me in the quietness of your office or prayer closet? What has happened to My church? The pews are empty! Why are the people leaving? When I called to you and you said yes to My will for your life, I put within My Word all the instruction you would need to be My Pastor. I put the qualifications for you, I put My promises for you, I put My commandments for you and I gave you the way to present it to the people so that they would come to Me through My Son, Jesus Christ. It is all there! I told you that I would speak to you as you studied and as you prayed. I would be with you every moment of the day so that you would know what I wanted you to do. I gave you a vision for the church where you pastor and I told you I would help you implement that vision. I told you I would help you draw people to Me. What has happened? I see so many of supposedly My people walking out the doors of their church and not returning. They are hurt and confused! Who has hurt them? Why has it come to this? I know that sometimes My people get into strife. I know that they do not love Me like they should. I know it is not always your fault when people leave. Why do My people not worship Me? I know the answer, Do You? The signs of the times are all around you! You watch it on TV and you hear it on the radio. You read it in the newspaper and talk about it over meals but do you know the answer to the problem. It is really very simple. It is Jesus! Do you know Jesus? Some people would say what a silly question to ask a pastor! Is it silly?

Know Jesus!

The other night we saw the movie, Left Behind. It had been a long time since we had seen it. We watched as the pastor of the church was left behind when the rapture happened. He realized that he had only been going through the motions telling people the stories from the Bible but he did not know the Jesus of the Bible. He was very distraught and soon he fell on his knees before the altar and asked forgiveness and was gloriously saved. We hear through the media from those studied in the Word of God that we are in the end times. We believe in the end times ourselves. We do not know where we are in the end times but only that what we see happening around the world is written in scripture. Please search your heart dear servant of God and know that you know that if you were to die tonight, you would be in the very presence of God. Know that you have an intimate relationship with Jesus and that He is your Savior and Lord. Then go forth to preach and teach nothing but the Word of God. The way, the truth and the life! Jesus is Lord!

Pastor, how are you doing?

We love you,
Charley & Karen

DISTRACTION, DESTRUCTION, DISOBEDIENCE

These are the enemy's tools to get us off track on God's purposes and plans for our life. How easily we are swayed! How easily we succumb to the lies and deception of the evil one. What is his plan?

Distraction

He creates all kinds of distractions such as anger, fear, selfishness and what a dear friend of mine calls "Navel gazing". These are very successful. Look closely at your life. Which one of these are you dealing with right now? Yes, it works doesn't it?

Destruction

What about destruction? It says in the Word that satan roams around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). Sounds like he is bent on destruction to me. He will destroy your reputation, your marriage, your family, your job, your health, your joy, and your relationships that honor and glorify the Lord, your word, your testimony, and your self worth. He will do it very subtlely or very boldly. Sometimes he gets in a hurry and just slaps you down. It is at those times we know who our enemy is. It is at other times we think our enemy is each other. Oh how wrong we are when we look at each other as the enemy. He blinds us to the truth. He is a chameleon changing colors at will and deceiving us. He is pretty good at it unfortunately because he has had lots of practice.

Disobedience

Then there is disobedience. He will tell you, you will not surely die if you don't do what God told you. Do you really believe that this is going to happen just because God told you? He is the author of confusion. He will provoke you to disobedience by lying to you and causing you to doubt God's Word.

Children of God, BEWARE! Do not listen to him! Do not let the distractions take your eyes off Jesus! Do not allow him to destroy you! Do not disobey the word and the will of God!
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt. 6:33

Give all your trust and allegiance to your Heavenly Father. In Him is the only answer for the three tools the enemy uses against us. Stay in the Word of God, meditate on it day and night, and walk in the Spirit of the Lord taking hold of all He has promised and given to us. There is no substitute for truth, love, joy, peace and rest. No substitute at all!

Dear friends, as we walk through these busy days of summer, do not neglect your quiet time with the Lord. As we have spent many hours on our face before the Lord during these days at home, we have heard Him speak concerning the times in which we live. We are bombarded over TV and newspapers with the 3 tools the enemy uses to steer us off course in our Christian walk.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:7-9

God bless and keep you all!

Happy Independence Day! We Celebrate Our Freedom!

Hello Prayer Partners:

It is with great appreciation we celebrate this July 4th with you! This year we renew our commitment to our country as the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave”. Our brave son came home the end of March from Iraq and we were so thankful to our Lord for protecting him as he did his job for us and for our country. There are many sons and daughters overseas today. We pray for each one that they will know the peace of Jesus as they work to keep our country free from terrorism and pain. We experienced some of what the world experiences when September 11 happened. Now we look at terrorism much differently. We look at life much differently than in past years.

We do not see ourselves as totally protected by our oceans and our military but we see ourselves as vulnerable to the world around us many of which hate us. It is interesting to us that those we have helped over the years would hate America. Maybe it is because freedom has eluded them for so long. When we sing God Bless America our eyes mist because we truly do want this nation to be blessed by our Father.

These past weeks Father has been showing us His love, grace and mercy not only in our lives but in the lives of each person who lives in this great country. We know that we are right where our Father wants us. For the past 6 years we have been on the road in June yet this June finds us at home. We seek the Lord concerning our next trip and we know that He is in control of our lives. Every day He has plans for us. We had the joy of spending several days with a young couple and their children from Florida. We met them a couple of years ago when we visited their church and pastor. They became very special to us then and now they are some of our adopted children. This couple came to see us! Our Father and His wonderful work daily in our lives! Then this past week we had the joy of spending the week with our own daughter and her family. That included our 4 grandchildren. Needless to say Mimi and Grandaddy had a ball! We know that we are home by Father’s design and He has been sending folks to see us rather than us being on the road. We spend our life trusting the Lord for our daily bread and for our purpose and direction. Since this ministry began we have only moved when Father told us to move and that has not changed. We have spent time reflecting on the past 6 years and on the pastors where we have spent much time sharing our hearts and lives. We stay in touch daily with many pastors and leaders praying for each one. We have watched them go through heartache and we have seen the grace of God so cover them in their pain. None of us are immune from the pain in this world but we know that our Lord is sufficient for our every need. Several scriptures that come to mind are:

2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly “I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-8
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

We are experiencing that peace that passes understanding as we walk each day in fellowship with the Father. We spend time in the Word of God, we meditate on that Word, we worship and praise our Lord for being our Father and our Lord, we seek His will and direction for our lives one day at a time, and we pray for those He has given us. We know that Father began this ministry almost 7 years ago for His purposes to be accomplished and we believe that we have seen that happen daily as we have walked in the Spirit. We look ahead to what the Lord has planned for Christ’s Kingdom Ministries. He has told us only a small portion of all that He has for the future but it is enough for us to be so excited and ready to go. Please continue to pray for us concerning our vehicle. Old Betsy continues to run but she can’t go on the long trips anymore. Also please pray that the resources needed to do all that the Father desires will come in His timing. He is Our Provider, Our Director, Our Guide, Our Healer, and Our Lord.

God bless and keep each one of you!
We love you,

Charley & Karen

Christ's Kingdom Ministries June Newsletter

Father’s Blessings Will Overtake Us!
Summer is here! All you have to do is go outside for about 5 minutes and you know what season it is. We have had many seasons in our life and each one is very unique and special. We have been in a resting season for the past 6 months. Now that doesn’t mean we have not been busy with ministry because we have added several pastors to our prayer list. During these past few months we sent over 200 Love Bears to India with some dear friends and also sent 70+ bears to China.
We got so excited when we got the email telling us that the bears had arrived safely in China. It took a long time because they were transported by ship. We would love to have been there when
the precious missionaries gave them to the children in the orphanage. We know that the children will experience the love of Jesus through the missionaries love and their bear. Our ministry has become so diversified in these almost 7 years. Father has taken us all over this country by car but He has also taken us all over the world through prayer and the contacts He has given us. Just a week ago we met a precious couple who minister in the Philippines. Soon we will send Love Bears to them as a part of a container of items gathered by several groups. We are already praying for them and the work they are doing. We also visited with another couple who are missionaries to the Philippines who before Christmas took 150 Love Bears to the people of the small villages where they work. They told us that they have given away all of their bears so we will be sending bears with them on their next trip. We see daily answers to our prayers. The Spirit of God is moving mightily drawing people to His throne and we are a part of that movement through prayer and resources. We hope that you are a part of what God is doing around the world. If not you are missing a great blessing!
The face of Christ’s Kingdom Ministries is also changing. Our wonderful car that the Lord gave us in 1996 is not able to travel the long trips anymore. We have 265,000 miles on it and the Lord has kept it going. So we await Father’s provision of a new faithful friend for the next leg of this ministry journey. Father has told us that along with loving and encouraging pastors, sharing the resources He has given us (bears, books and tapes, cross bookmarks, Bibles, etc.), we also will be administering His blessings (material and spiritual) to congregations and pastors. We do not know all that that means but we do know that Father has a plan. We as His ministers are surrendered to Him and trust Him to provide our needs to do His work. During this new season we are stepping out in faith for Father’s will and promises to be accomplished. You have been a source of great encouragement and strength for us. Your prayers have truly been answered as you have prayed for our car, our finances and our health. Some dear ministry friends in Georgia called not long ago and told us that they had been concerned about us. In prayer the Lord responded to them that He had left us home for these months so that we could rest because when we do leave we will be gone a long time. It is interesting that others have told us the same thing as well. Father told them He has much for us to do. That word was such an encouragement for us. Father is in total control of where we are. A scripture that has become vital for ministry today is Deuteronomy 28:1-3 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.”
If we will obey the voice of the Lord our God, to do all He commands and follow His Word, He will place us where He wants us to touch people’s lives and He will bless the work of our hands and the words we speak. We shall see the fruit of our labors. We don’t know about you but we want Father’s blessings on us. We want the blessings to overtake us and THEY ARE! We want to know that we are walking in faith trusting our Lord moment by moment for His will to be accomplished. We have talked so often about divine appointments in this ministry and another example happened last week. We got a call from some friends about 45 minutes away. They had been given an envelope with a donation for the ministry and they called to let us know. We told them we would come to get it. When we arrived we met a pastor. His name was given to us for prayer about 2 months ago. As we were introduced to him we told him that we had been praying for him and his congregation. He got very excited as we shared what Father has told us to do as we travel and as we meet pastors. We shared together for about 25 minutes and when we left we were blessed and he was blessed. Father had brought us together for that moment in time to bless and encourage this man of faith. Our lives reflect moment by moment the love of Jesus and we know what walking in faith is all about.
We trust our Lord Jesus to do what He has told us He will do. Do you have that kind of faith in your Lord? You may have experienced the salvation gift of Jesus Christ through His death on the cross and His Resurrection but do you walk daily in a personal and intimate relationship with Him reading His Word and prostrating yourself before Him in prayer. Please stay in the Word. The truth is in the Word. Let us encourage you to spend at least 10 minutes a day in the Word and in prayer. Your life will be enriched and encouraged as you deal daily with the issues of life.
We look forward to our next trip. Several things that must happen before we can travel are: a new vehicle and financial provision. This ministry belongs to the Lord and as His ministry, He will provide. So please pray for us to hear His voice and be obedient to His call on our life. God is on His throne! He is faithful! Look at our new website: http://www.welovepastors.org/. God bless and keep you!

TRUTH OR LIES! WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Have you noticed that when you turn on the TV or look at a newspaper you are bombarded with information? How do you look at the information presented to you? Do you ask yourself “Do they know what they are talking about?”, or do you listen and believe everything you hear or read? I have come to the conclusion that whether it is the news, TV programs or the newspapers, if you don’t filter the information given to you through something that you trust you won’t know what to believe. It is sad to say that our world has become a propaganda machine just like what we used to call the old Soviet Union. I can remember my folks saying that all they ever said was propaganda. I didn’t understand what propaganda was at the time but I knew it wasn’t good.
I have chosen the Bible, the inerrant Word of God as my filter because I believe that it is the absolute truth. It has come under great assault in recent days through movies and different organizations. I can’t tell you the number of emails I have received with pictures and stories of people trying to undermine and rid the world of God’s Word and its truth. It says in that truthful word that this will happen in the last days. In 1 John 2:18 it says, “Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour.”
Vv21-23
says,
“I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.”
Believers, who have chosen to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, are called to take a stand on truth and to live their lives in integrity. Integrity means sincerity of heart, completeness, uprightness, truthfulness or simplicity. You live your life in honesty and truthfulness and you expect others to do the same. Of course that is too often not the case in business matters or even family matters. Where should integrity have its greatest value, in the home! We hear so much about the break down of the home unit and how relationships are so strained and fragmented. It is so true and part of the reason is the absence of integrity, honesty and especially love. In the Word Jesus said in Matthew 22:37-39,“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
We must decide whether we will love the Lord our God and love our neighbor as ourselves. If we choose to do so then we will not tell lies and be people who lack integrity. We will follow the Word of God which is the absolute truth and we will filter everything we see and hear through the Word to see whether it is truth or lies. We have these choices daily. Will you stand and be counted as a child of God or walk in the ways of the world which lead to death?
Here is an example of a new card we are giving to help people make a choice to follow Jesus as Savior and Lord! We are so excited that we also have this card in English and Spanish.

God’s Gift to You

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 5:8
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Prayer for Salvation:
Heavenly Father, I know that I am a sinner. I know that Jesus is Your Son, and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. I know I need forgiveness for my sin. I am willing to turn from my sins and receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Don't Camp in the Valleys!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life! That sounds pretty profound doesn’t it but it’s true. Whatever has happened a week ago or even yesterday is over and gone. You can’t change it nor can you keep it going for ever and ever. Sometimes we want so much to stay on that mountain top and continue to experience the highs of our life and it just doesn’t work. It may seem that we stay in the valleys forever! I heard one time that it is in the valleys that we grow. Oh yes we do! But it sure is a painful time in the valley. Not necessarily that it is always the valley of despair and death but it is in those valleys that we realize that Jesus is all that we need. Fame, fortune, health and happiness are sought but they do not fulfill the longing in our hearts and souls. Only Jesus will fill that longing! We are experiencing one of those valley times in our lives. We all have them. We see by the natural eye problems and situations that could be overwhelming and defeating but in Jesus they are opportunities to see the Glory of the Lord manifested. In Psalm 121:1-2 it says:
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”
That statement when taken as truth, which after all it is the Word of God, is a great comfort. Where do I look for help to deal with the daily issues of life? Where do I look for help with my children? Where do I look for help with my marriage? Where do I look for help with my job? I am supposed to look to the Lord for His wisdom, His provision, His favor, His mercy, grace and peace. But where do I look for help? I will look to every person in my realm of influence except the Lord. Man’s wisdom will not help you. It must be from the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come!
In Proverbs 4:20-27 we are told:
“My son (or daughter), attend to My words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left; remove thy foot from evil.”
Matthew 6:33
says: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
How do we walk through the valleys of life and come out victorious? We do it God’s way. We follow His pathway. We walk in His footsteps. We do not camp in the valleys forever!
Proverbs 3:5-6 says: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Can it be any clearer to you this day dear child of God? Trust (rest in His promises and His Word as the absolute truth), lean not unto our own understanding (we can’t figure this out on our own), and we must acknowledge that Jesus is Lord and that the Holy Spirit lives within us to lead and guide into all truth. Then it tells us in the Word that He (Our Heavenly Father through the Holy Spirit of God) will direct our paths, not maybe or hope to be but SHALL or WILL direct our paths. We live that life every day! He directs our steps so that we do not stumble and fall. He directs our path so we can keep His appointments.
Only last week we took a drive by Father’s direction into the country. We had no agenda except to enjoy the afternoon together and know that Father had a plan for our time. We drove northwest enjoying the scenery. We visited with a precious friend in a town northwest of Fort Worth and then drove east towards Denton. We had a gift certificate for lunch at a restaurant north of Fort Worth so we thought we would use it. We walked into the restaurant at about 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon and there were only a few people present. In a moment we heard a voice next to us say “Have you ordered yet?” We turned around into the smiling faces of a couple whom we had not seen in 8-10 years. After many hugs and much love shared, we found out that we were both out of our area of residence. Father brought us together in that restaurant for His purposes to be accomplished. As we ate lunch together and caught up on many years apart, they shared what the Lord had done in their lives in ministry and family. It was an exciting time to “look what God has done”. Our meeting opened doors of opportunity for ministry through Christ’s Kingdom Ministries. Dear child of God seek to walk in obedience to the Lord daily following His footsteps and walking through doors of opportunity that He opens for you. God bless and keep you as you walk this life one day at a time with Jesus.

A Word of Encouragement to our Pastors

Dear Pastor,
What a joy to send this message of encouragement to you as you serve the Lord in the place where He has placed you. You have listened intently to Him and have followed His leadership and guidance to His place of service. You go to His throne daily for His plan of action in ministering to those under your care. You are a shepherd of the sheep that belong to Him. Is this a picture of your life today? Do you hear God’s voice and do you obey? We live in a world of “It’s all about me”! It is sad to see folks only concerned about themselves and very unconcerned about the world around them. Many people came to the forefront when Katrina hit New Orleans. We have heard story after story of the Good Samaritans who came to help and continue to help daily. Yet where you are is also in great need. The people under your care are hurting, lost, grieving and dying without Jesus. They walk about aimlessly going through the motions of this world system and do not know the Savior of the world. What is your part in the big picture dear pastor? Here is a word for you.

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved, He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper, the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.” Psalm 121

What an awesome word from The Word! Pastor, Father has placed you either in a church body or a ministry. He has a plan for you and He wants you to seek Him with your whole heart and not to lean on your own understanding. He wants you to acknowledge Him as the God of the Universe and the Great I AM. By doing this you tell Him that you want to do things His Way not your way. You have many people looking to you for guidance and even sometimes deliverance. Well we know that only our Father can deliver but you can give the tools by which they approach the Father for that deliverance. Give them the true Word of God Pastor! Give them the only answer to every situation they will face in life, Jesus! Speak only what the Holy Spirit gives you and that Word will not return empty and unfruitful. We have seen some pastors speaking words of death to their flock leading them into lies and deception. We have heard of others explaining away by human standards the miracles of the Word. Oh how sad that these trusted servants of the Lord have chosen to walk in disobedience. Their judgment will be great it says in the Word. Be wise dear pastor in the things of the Lord and never stray from the Word and its truth.

On this awesome and wonderful Resurrection Day let your voice ring clear from the pulpit! Jesus is Alive! Jesus is Alive! He lives and reigns forever! One day soon He will return for His children. Those who have given their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord will meet Jesus in the air and we will forever be with Him. What is your part in this marvelous plan of God? Be faithful to the call Father has placed on your life! Feed the sheep!

God bless and keep you dear pastor! We commit daily to pray for you as you seek the Lord for His plans for you and those you serve. You have much value to the Kingdom of God. Let us be about our Father’s business!

Hear Me Oh My People!

As Karen spent time with the Lord one day, this is the word He gave to her to share with the world. Listen and heed dear children of God. The time is coming soon when Jesus will return for His Church, His people. Will you be ready?

Hear Me Oh My people! The I AM is speaking to you!
Why do you not listen to Me? Why do you go on about your tasks in your own strength and not Mine? I am here for you! I will take care of you but you will not listen. You will not seek Me. I will care for your every need but you will not seek Me nor listen. Do you see what is happening in the world? Do you know that I am still in charge of everything? You forget what My Word says. You do not read nor study so you do not understand that the adversary the devil knows that his time is short. He knows that he must do what he must do before I take my children home. See the signs from My Word and believe that I have spoken the truth. What are you going to do with each day? Are you going to trust Me or the world and all it offers. Do what I say children! Do what I say! I tell you over and over not to live with the lusts of this world but to walk in holiness with Me.

Charley and Karen, I have chosen you to be my ambassadors to this world. I have given you a message of hope and forgiveness. I have prepared you to go and teach My Word without compromise. I have a plan and a purpose for you and for all My other children. I am so glad you listen to Me and seek Me. You have done this for a long time. It is good that you do because you have much work to do. I have equipped you to do what I send you to do. You have My Word in you. You are covered by My righteousness. I sent the scent of My Spirit to you in church so that you would know just how close I am to you. I am in you and about you. Even sitting in your office talking and working I am with you every step. Do you always feel Me? No, but you know I am there. Why do My children not seek that intimacy with Me. Are they afraid? They do not want what I want. They want their own way. You must not be concerned about what they do but about what you do. I will give you words to speak to those I desire but not everyone will hear My Words. Go where I send. Do what I say. It will not get easier but it will be longer than before that you will go. Many look for you now. They await your coming with anticipation. They want you to come because you bring My love and My truth with you. I AM is with you. I will not leave you. Listen close to My words and do what I say. Peace I give to you. Look nigh for the provisions I have promised. Look nigh.

I love you My children. Give My love to others.
Jesus Loves You!

We love you!

Christ's Kingdom Ministries March Newsletter

Dear Prayer Partners:
This New Year is off to an awesome start! We have been home since November 1, 2005. The Lord has kept us very busy with appointments and opportunities to share His Word and His message. Since January 1 we have added a new adopted daughter to our family and have spent several hours with her and her husband sharing the love of Jesus and His wisdom as they have sought help in dealing with different situations in their lives. What a joy to see folks embrace the Word of God and to also learn how to hear Father’s voice and to be obedient! In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him and sup with him, and he with Me.” We made a list early in January of those we needed to contact about what the Lord is doing in their lives. We began inquiring concerning a convenient time and for several weeks we had appointments every day usually at our favorite restaurant eating great cooking and talking about God’s goodness in our lives and in their lives. It is amazing how Father uses these times to His honor and glory. Many are dealing with marital issues that need much prayer and a word of encouragement. Some are dealing with job issues and ministry needs. Many have situations that are burdensome with their children and loved ones. There is so much happening in the lives of God’s children right now. The spiritual warfare is very evident in the lives of believers. Why does the enemy attack so heavily? It is because God’s children choose to walk with the Lord in their daily lives and the enemy is very upset about this. He comes to steal, kill and destroy and if he can tear down marriages, parent/child relationships and the family unit he has succeeded in his quest. In Ephesians 6:12 it says: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Spiritual warfare is very real! This world is in turmoil and the only thing that will make a difference is God’s people on their knees praying for not only our President and government leaders but also for our pastors and ministry leaders. A large part of this ministry is prayer. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 it says: “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Father has given us thousands to pray for each week and we take that responsibility very serious. Every day we pray for over 1400 people. One night we were so late getting home that we considered waiting until morning to pray but we knew the responsibility the Lord had given us so we went through our prayer list. Afterwards the Lord told us that we had people on our prayer list that would not have lived until morning if we hadn’t prayed. Intercessory prayer is vital! Just last week we attended a pastor’s conference with a missionary couple. They spent several days in our home as we enjoyed the conference. During the sessions we not only heard the Word of God preached but we met many pastors for the first time. They were from Texas, Pennsylvania and Missouri. We were blessed beyond words as we shared our hearts and lives with these folks. We were given encouragement through the Word of God and through their experiences as His servants. We added several to our prayer list. It is our desire to be an encouragement to them.
Several prayer needs were mentioned during the conference. One of them was for a mission team that had gone to the interior of Mexico. We were told that one of the ladies in the group had become separated from her team and was lost in the wilderness. Most folks do not think of Mexico as cold but in the mountains and away from civilization it does get pretty cold. This lady spent several days lost. We had a season of prayer for her during the conference and continued to pray for her daily. We heard on Sunday afternoon that she had been found alive and unharmed. We rejoiced with the pastor who called and we know that she has an awesome testimony from this experience. We exchanged business cards with many in the group and they are now on our email list as well as prayer list. We were so encouraged by this conference in our role as intercessors and ministry leaders.
During January a precious lady called and asked if we could use more of the Love Bears. We said yes! We had given the majority of the bears away in the last 3 months. After giving 150 for ministry in the Philippines and individual ministry, we had 19 bears left. We received a request for 24 bears for an unwed mother’s home in Minnesota. I called the lady and asked if she could make the 5 bears that were needed for the unwed mother’s home. Praise the Lord! She not only made the 5 bears needed but she and her family have now given us over 200 bears. We have been asked to supply bears for an orphanage in India and one in China so we are gathering bears for those outreaches. While the missionaries to Mexico were with us, we talked about the ministry of the bears and when they left they took 2 bags of bears (14 bears) with them. We praise the Lord for these outreach opportunities.
We are so excited about 2006. The Lord continues to show us His provision and His love through the contacts we have made and continue to make daily. Many people are looking at our blog and desire to become a part of this ministry through donations of goods and finances. The blog has information about the bears and other ministry opportunities. During January Charley was led by the Lord to buy 5 cases of English Bibles (100 Bibles). That next week we gave two cases away to a young man who is teaching a Bible Study at a rehab center. He was thrilled! Our missionary friends took one case of the English to use in the hospital and jail ministry. We use what the Lord provides in resources and donations to His Glory!
Thank you dear prayer partners for joining us in what God is doing through Christ’s Kingdom Ministries in 2006! Get excited with us that people are coming to a saving knowledge of Jesus and are giving their lives to the Lord’s service. Let us be faithful to share Jesus where the Lord has placed us in homes, jobs and ministry!
Matthew 28:18-20 says: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, “All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” Amen.

CALL TO HOLINESS
Since the first of the year we have seen many opportunities to make a choice for right or for what is politically correct. Now right means that we make our choices according to the Word of God. The Word is truth and we adhere to the message presented in the Word concerning the two greatest commandments as set forth by Jesus in Matthew 22:36-40. He is being questioned by the Pharisees and the Word says: “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ “This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets”. If you walk obediently to these two commandments then it will affect every facet of your lives. You have probably noticed that the programming on TV has really become very offensive and many movies are being made that are also offensive at least if you are a Christian. Now the world doesn’t think about what Holiness means but the children of God should be thinking about Holiness. Holiness is being set apart or separated from all that is sinful, impure or morally imperfect. It is moral wholeness. We as children of God are being called to be set apart, to be different than the world that indulges in sinful, impure and morally imperfect actions and thoughts. You can not watch TV or see most movies in the theater without your senses being assaulted by every perversion possible and by speech that is full of profane words. It is so sad! Even shows that promote being family shows are unhealthy for us to watch. Father gave me a scripture concerning the entertainment being promoted daily and it is: Ephesians 4:17-24 “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”
Bottom line is that you have a choice what you do, what you see, what you hear and what you say. You choose to be Holy and set apart for Father’s service and His life. You choose to act like a Christian (Christ One) or you choose to walk with the world and its ways. What will you choose? Does it matter what you see and do as a believer? We say YES! It is your choice!
